About Braden and Rika
Ourselves
Rika and myself came from different parts of the world, not this one either.
I'm from a smallish town in Western Canada, while Rika is from Tokyo, one of the world’s biggest metropolises.
I grew up skipping school to head up to the ski hill, while Rika went to cram schools and spent her free time window-shopping.
Rika thoroughly understands how important your wedding is for you, investing so much time, emotions, and money, whether it's a big party or a small intimate wedding.
She sometimes cries in front of a computer editing wedding photos, because she finds weddings to be so loving and moving.
I, on the other hand, don't get so emotional through lenses, however, I stay professional, am always looking for great angles, good natural light, and artistic compositions.
Rika does most of the accounting stuff and back-end of things, while I snap and shoot and meet clients.
We have both lived in a few foreign countries, and we both speak foreign languages.
One day we realized that we make a fantastic team.
After knowing each other for years, we got married, had babies, and now we have our little piece of domestic bliss here in the Far North. Ahhhhhhhh.
Myself particularly
I'm driven by my interests, which as you can imagine are mostly related to but not limited to photography.
In fact, I have a real addiction to learning; I mostly listen to podcasts while other people might listen to music, which is how I constantly drop awesome trivia bombs and why I'm the perfect pick for your pub trivia team.
What I do on your big day & what I want you to do on your big day
My approach to working with you on your wedding day is to make it fun and stress free, I’m an easy going, laid back kinda guy.
I don’t like to give you any pressure, so I let you just be yourselves, while I often stand back and snap away.
Sometimes I see something I want to do and I’ll offer some directions, crack a few jokes or just let you guys have a quiet moment.
I know what's happening and when it should be happening, so use my experience and let me keep track of the time, have another glass of wine, smile and laugh a lot, and enjoy:)
Something very important
One thing you must know while planning a wedding: You need to get on well with who ever you hire as your photographer!
It's a pretty intimate thing taking photos at your wedding, and the person who you will be hanging out with all day is ...your photographer.
Make sure it is someone you would like to have around, I'm not saying pick me, just make sure you pick someone that suits you well.
Where do I go from here?
Best way to know for sure what a person is like is to meet up face to face and just have a conversation.
This is exactly why I insist on meeting all my couples as early as possible and as often as you'd like, it's just that important.
From our first contact we make everything easy for yourselves.
In fact, we try to make the whole process as simple and easy as possible for you so that your wedding will be an enjoyable day that holds only fond memories for many years to come for both of you.
Shoot us an email, book in a time to meet us over cuppa, and see if we are right for you:)
